I received a private message today from the forum tech there. I was not aware of this rule, and frankly I think it's a load of crap! How are we supposed to give sketch artists and kit club owners credit for their products if we aren't allowed to list other scrapbooking sites in our descriptions in the gallery?!!

I've received a number of complaints lately about gallery uploads that violate the board rules. For review:

General Rules for Scrapbook.com:
--Participants may not use the Forums to post or transmit advertisements or commercial solicitations of any kind.
--Do not link to any outside scrapbooking or craft sites. This includes online stores or sites of any kind related to scrapbooking. Do not link to E-Bay or other auction sites. (Content of this nature should be shared via email or Private Message).
--Signatures, private messages, and avatars should not contain advertising information for other sites.

Leaving the http:// off of a link doesn't make it acceptable to post.

Please edit any descriptions that you have that are advertising for other sites, etsy stores, etc.

Thanks for your help, and for being a part of the neighborhood!

~The Scrapbook.com Team

I know, right? This must be a new rule, because almost every page I've left a comment on for designers from Fancy Pants, etc., ALWAYS leave the link to their manufacturer sites.

I mean, I understand that scrapbook.com is a "store" and they need to sell items too..but I always "tag" my products that I used with the products in THEIR store, so I don't see why it matters if credit is given to an outside source. If someone is looking at my page and likes what they see, they are more likely to click on the products I tagged in order to buy them instead of visiting an outside site anyway. Grrrr!

That is such a pain!! I completely understand your frustration...if equal credit is given, then I don't understand what the big deal is!!

Serious BS. Like you said, I get they are a store, but SI isn't...why not be able to promote a sketch site? TSR, I kinda get...but still comparing apples to oranges.

It's weird because I didn't get a private message??? I do the same thing...and if they ask me to delete links, then I will delete my gallery from there.
That isn't right.
