Have Your Way With Paper

i have to say that since i got DS i have NOT made "wrong" cuts with my cricut.

i lov eit.....

i could never get the "right" size when making a cut. generally because it measured landscape ways rather than horizontally.

anyway, with DS i can get the EXACT cut at the EXACT size! it's awesome! If nothing else, this is a great reason to get DS.....

Paula, you know I am so with you on this!..I love using it for multipul sizings on one design..

Ok, let me explain. Say I want to make a certain size card. I cut it 5x10. Knowing where the center line is, I can get a design to fit exactly where I want on the front by putting it on top for measuring. Then, I copy and paste to a new page. Make sure I delete it from the first page so it will only cut the card. Or if I have a premade card, I will delete the card I used for sizing and cut just the design on the second page. make sense...?...lol..

I'm looking for a good price so I could get DS for Elizabeth for Christmas. I may check out Joanns since I have a 50% coupon and they will take it.

i got mine for $35 on ebay as a buy it now.
i think they may be a bit cheaper now.

and i THINK i get what you are saying. basically, you use apge 1 for sizing purposes and page 2 for cutting purposes. more or less. right? i'll have to try that out one of these days......when i have tim to play. i wish you were closer so you could just SHOW me....lol

Pauls, there are times when you just need to cut the second page and sometimes, you need to cut both. but, I think you know what I'm talking about.

Next time I open DS (which is often), I'll do some screen shots and post them.

The only thing I hate anymore is with so many cartridges, it takes way too long to upload and open. I'll start it and can actually go and get something to eat or use the bathroom before it is ready...lol..

I did order DS from Ebay!!..I got it for around that price (can't remember exacty) with no shipping charge. I jsut got an email that it was shipped out, so I should get it in a few days..Well, with the holiday, maybe next week.

Mine is still setting in the unopened packaging somewhere in a dusty corner. I've had it at least a couple years and never hooked it up....not knowing if I should hook it to the best computer upstairs, or the now dead one in the basement. Upstairs, I'd have to lug the Cricut up and down when I want to cut using DS.
I like the idea of the big screen too. I was thinking about the Gypsy, but don't like the smallness of it. Maybe I should make a play for my own new computer for the basement.

i think your own new one for the basement is a great idea! just in time for christmas too!
