I don't even know where to start with this! The sad thing is, I don't think I can afford the airfare and port fees in this short of notice. The cruise is October 17-24. I have emailed the lady and asked if there was a cruise at a later date that I could register for...waiting to hear back from her. I'm so freakin excited!!!!!!

Well, after talking it over with Van, there's no way we could arrange to make the cruise for this year. So, I have to wait until the end of the month when the company figures out next year's cruise details, and then they will let me know what will be covered. I'm hoping it's basically the same as this year's cruise, but hopefully will give us more time to plan and save up.

Who knows....maybe we could all just get on the cruise ship for our get together! We could scrap AND have the beach! hehehehe

Funny, because 'jokingly' as we talked about our next year get together, I was going to say cruise..lol..You know for years I've been talking about going on a 'scrapbook cruise'..lol..

As for the passport, unless they changed something again since February, you do not need a passport. If you arrive by cruise ship and get back on the cruise ship at any of the carribbean ports, you do not need a passport.


So....big CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Did they say what port you would be leaving from? What ship?

Roe, Jenny I had that same thought.... Wonderd if you gals have thought about a 3-4 day cruise for your girls weekend.

It's Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas...leaves out of Port Canaveral. It's a week long cruise that goes to Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and I think one other place. Those are all places I've DREAMED of going!

I hope they can work something out to where I can go to the same places next year....I'd really hate to pass up the opportunity to go to these places, but it's in October, and I've had no time to save up for airfare and spending money, etc. Not to mention, the port charges are my responsibility, which are a little over $300.

Van and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas for our honeymoon, and we promised each other we'd go on another one some day. We said back then that we'd do a cruise every 10 years. This year was our 10-yr anniversary this year back in March...so pretty cool the way that happened. I will know at the end of the month what the plans for next year are....I can't wait! I wish she'd let me know NOW, but she is leaving for a crop-n-cruise today. Where can I find a job like that????

OH MY GOLLY!!! How cool is that ! I will that they can figure something out because it couldn't happen to a more deserving person! That is an amazing layout! Congratulations!!!

What great news. Looking forward to seeing the LO in the mag. I really hope you can work things out to go next year. A passport would make it a lot easier. I think only the American territories don't make you have a passport and even St. Thomas gave me a hard time once. Start saving up now, cause there are lots of extras on these types of trips. All the excursions(side trips) at the port of calls cost extra. Drinks are extra. A room with a tiny window is extra. But there are lots of activities to keep you busy right on the ship that are fun and free and many ports of call have a beach and shops within walking distance. And don't forget the casino on board at sea....more $$, if you're into that. Still a wonderful experience.

Jenny, how cool would that be to go on that ship..(nice one)and..so close to me I can ride down just to say hi..lol..sure, like if I caught you fast enough before you got on the ship..lol..

Joe brought home info on cruising because he thought of Joey and Elizabeth for December (their honeymoon) and it's still the same as it was in February. You can easily check online for the info or ask the cruiseline directly. Passports are easier if you cruise alot and dont' want to carry your birth certificate.

Now, let's keep ing for a date you can work with (and some cash)..and..
what a great 10 year anniversary present!!..

Well, I heard back from the cruise lady today. (Seriously, why can't I have her job? She gets to book scrappy getaways and cruises for a living....and then gets to attend every one of them!!!)

She said the "big" cruise for next year is an Alaskan cruise in June. I'd rather go somewhere tropical, so she said there will be a shorter cruise out of Florida at some point. She is meeting with some representatives next week and will hear all of their proposals then. So....hoping to hear something next week!

I was ing for a shorter cruise anyway, because I'm just not sure I could handle a week long one. A 4-day cruise would be great. I'm bummed that I'll probably have to miss out on seeing Jamaica...but maybe someday.

Hey at least they are working with you! That's awesome. btw Alaskan cruises are AWESOME!
