So I've said it a billion times and I know you're tired of hearing it but....I have no kitchen at the moment.

-No stove
-No sink to wash dishes in

I need some main dish ideas - something other than sandwiches, hot dogs, corn dogs and microwavable pizza. My family is tired of those things and I'm limited and out of inspiration.
Snack time is easy: fruits, veggies, an occasional pop tart...

Any ideas????? :duh

No need to clean the crock pot if you use those cool crock pot liners! ;)

I was just going to say crockpot dinners.
Make foil pockets of various meats and veggies and grill them outside.
How long will you be without a kitchen? Have the workers given you an estimated finish time?

how about a George Foreman grill....you can do grilled cheese or ham, tomatoe and cheese. Other panini's. Grill veggies on it too...it does great mushrooms and onions. Napa Cabbage salad with crumbled dry ramen noodles on top.

Great ideas. Thank you!
I looked for some crock pot ideas at the store, but got frustrated with the selection.
I found some chicken pot pies that I can microwave, and some chicken nuggets.
Sam grilled steaks on the grill tonight and I found some macaroni that is pre-cooked, you just heat it up in the microwave.
Austin loves chicken noodle soup so I got some of that.
I'm just paranoid about feeding my family better...you don't realize how much you really use your kitchen until you can't!

yes, we redid our kitchen 2 winter/springs ago. It took nearly 6 months to complete. WE lived by grill and the Foreman grill and the crockpot and fast food and paper plates and plastic utensils, cause the sink was out of order half that time too. Old microwave went and we waited for the new one to be installed...like forever. And the fridge was plugged in the dining room up front. Soon you'll have a pretty new kitchen to show for it. Take before during and after pics.

I was going to suggest crockpot.
I have the Fix It and Forget It cookbooks if there is something in particular you'd think you'd like. Way better than nuking stuff all the time.

Grilled kabobs is great for meat and veggies. And you can bake potatoes on the grill as well.
I wouldn't recommend pizza and fries on the grill. They just didn't work out for me.

My oven broke a few years back and I, on purpose, let it go for about 9 months.
I used the grill and crock pot a LOT. But then it was starting to get close to the fall and I needed the oven!

The liners sound like a great idea - I am not familiar with them.
If you need any recipes, just give me a general idea of what you'd like and I'll look some up for you!
