I have broken yet another cutterpede trimmer! This is the 3rd, maybe 4th, one that I have broken the measuring arm off of

I like this trimmer, but geez if I keep breaking it maybe I need something new.

so what do you use?
what do you like about it?
dislike about it?

I bought my paper trimmer from Stampin Up YEARS ago...like when I first started scrapping. It's black and silver, Fiskars I think. I change the blade on it occasionally, but I've never had any problems with it and it's lasted me all these years! ;)

Oh, that happened to me to.
I just went and bought another one (actually online since I couldn't find one in any stores around here).
I was disgusted with it and needed a new one so I just bit the bullet.
EK Success has the most terrible customer service so I don't have any suggestions there.
They said they were sending me out a replacement something or other years back and I have yet to get it! Then when I sent another message indicating how unhappy I was, they just ignored it. So, I do not think you'll have much luck getting a new one from them.
I happen to love that trimmer as well but if my arm breaks off again I will be disgusted!!

this is the one i want to get. you don't have to worry about the extending arm for larger cuts because the "xtra" gets folded under! Image

right now, i have this one. it's the same thing, but smaller and with the arm
Image

it's similar to the cutterpede in that it has the interchangeable rotary blades.

it's all fiskars and i got mine at michael's. you can totally use the 40% coupon on these, unless they're on sale. however, if they're on sale - it's usually a 40% sale! i'm very happy with mine!

occassionally you'll hae to replace the cutting bar. but they're fairly inexpensive and can flip it over and use the other side, then turn it on both sides to get good loooooong use out of it!

i really like the ones that have the pull down cutter ahndle. but those are kind of bulky and heavier than i would like. that would be more of a permanent fixture on my table. right now, that's not possible. maybe if/when i have my own scrap room again!

I have a cutterpede too but I'm not dedicated to it at all - not sure if I like the rotary blade or not - makes it a little hard to do precision cuts if you aren't going all the way through the paper and its a little temperamental if you don't have it on a completely even surface (which happens a LOT on my messy table) I used to have the very basic Fiskars one but I found over time that it stopped cutting straight. Darned if you do and darned if you don't.

i ran into the exact same problem krissy! i couldn't understand why until a lady at a crop kinda explained it to me and basically said that what i want is one that has a metal bar that doesn't warp over time or a pull down handle one. it's amazing what you can learn at a crop soemtimes!
