My thinking is...

The suggested retail price of the room/board we are getting is $1,000 a person. If I go on a smaller cruise (like a 4-day cruise), maybe the prize money would be enough to cover more people...maybe enough for 4 people in a room so that the whole family could go. Van could entertain the boys while I crop at night.

That's my thinking, anyway....not sure it'll work.

I think an Alaskan cruise would be GORGEOUS, but I don't wanna be cold. LOL My dad has been to Alaska, and he loved it. It truly is amazing God's country up there. I'm a beach/island kinda girl myself.

We shall see!

Alaska is great in June! In the 80's inland....cool out at sea. Land of the midnight sun too.....light all the time. Tropical is nice if you like the heat. And shorter would be better for the boys I suppose too.

Jenny, I've been to Jamaica and don't feel bad..you aren't missing much. If you go to the Bahamas. your best bet is to get tickets/passes for Atlantis. There you can swim and beach..Not much to do on the island. You are going to have a blast no matter where you go!

Just got an announcement on FB that they are planning the October 2011 cruise to Belize/Roatan. Anyone ever been there?

Not very familiar with that area, but from what I can tell, it's a beach/rain forest type adventure. They say you can take excursions to zip line through the rain forest (toooootally wanna do this!!!), visit Mayan ruins, play on white sand beaches (ohhhh yeah), and pet/hold Howler monkeys. LOL More details are supposed to be posted later today on their blog, but this sounds pretty cool if it's the cruise I'm gonna get to go on!

LOL, Paula! This is all still "in the planning" process. First, they said it would be a New England cruise, and now they are saying Belize. Hopefully they will make up their mind and post details soon so I can start PLANNING!

You can always use the $$ for something else if you don't need it for the cruise.
That sounds exciting.
My dream is to go to the Galapagos Islands.
They had a cruise there that you could win on Jeopardy. I entered and entered. I didn't win.
So, anywhere you go will be great since you won it!

Went to Belize on a cruise several years ago. It was nice.....great excursions. Stay with the tour group though, because there are bad areas. We had a great tour guide...did the jeeps ride, cave exploring, rain forest short hike, boat ride back to ship up a river with huge 10 ft. iguanas all over tour. "You has to see it to Belize it"...tour guide expression.

Hmmm, you'd need quite the different clothing on the New England cruise. We did that one too. It was nice also....went up into Canada. Left out of NYC at sunset....gorgeous views of the Statue of Liberty.

You'll have a lot of fun no matter what.
