Hey - can the cricut imagine cartridges be used in the original machine?
Just wondering - what exactly do they do?
I haven't really looked at any but someone was mentioning one tonight.

Hey Cheryl...

Yes, the personal cutters can cut the images just not print any patterns.

When you use them with the cricut imagine you can select an image from any cricut cartridge and then usinge imagine pattern cartrides you can print a pattern for example my apple I used on my school layout I could have cut the apple and printed the green check paper on it at the same time there for not having to cut the image twice (base cut and top cut) Hope that make scence.

Thanks! I will have to check out the images they have.
Went to buy a cartridge at Michael's yesterday - of course they had the card but not the cartridge! then the one they tried to give me (paper lace, I wanted 2) was one I need last night! (Searching on Gypsy).

I don't care about printing out patterns - I love my baby Cricut!! The original.

I was always under the impression that the imagine carts wouldn't work in an original cricut
