someone mentioned that my recent layouts have been "better". well, i don't want to take all the credit (ok, i DO, but i won't...lol). A lot of things play a big role.

it is SO much easier using a kit than it is trying to coordinate pp all by myself. i remember how hard it was for me to combine papers and how impressed i was when others could do it! also, using sketches makes life so much easier. i may not use the sketch compeltely, but it definitely gives me a great place to start. let's not forget all the inspiration out there! not just in our own gallery (which is overflowing with it), but also on SI, TSR, and just online in general. i also think that trying (and i do mean TRYING) to think outside the box at times and trying new things and techniques helps too. now, things don't always come out the way i had envisioned, but at least i can say i tried....

Paula - I agree with you about using kits, I do so much better when I have a kit to work from. If I had it all to do over again I would just use kits but I bought so much stuff when I first started and just collected so much over the years that I can't afford not to use it but kits are so much easier! And I almost always have to have a sketch to start out, even if I change things up, I just need ideas, don't know if I'm lazy or just don't have that much talent - probably some of both! :giggle

Don't sell yourself short though because I do think most everyone evolves over time, like with anything the more of it you do the better you get! I know there's a big difference in my LO's now from the first few years of LO's. AND I'm looking forward to hopefully getting better in the future!

Good ideas. Maybe a home made kit swap might be a fun swap sometime? You know we all have so much stash we'll never use.

Fun idea Robin, I'm sure we all have so much stuff could make some cute kits. When I am preplanning for a crop I do homemade kits, I normally put more in there than I will use, but it gives me options. I also find that even if I don't intend to use a new technique, it helps to know how to do them, might lead to something else or teach you an easier way to do something you already do!

Paula, I can't say I have seen your evolution, but I look forward to seeing your work!

I'm with you Paula - the kits and sketches really make life easier. I am burning through the kits this weekend just can't get the creativity to stop!
