Do you print pictures right away, or do you keep them on your computer until you are ready to use specific ones? I used to keep up with my photo printing and had everything up to date. Then, I let it slip, and now there are months and months worth of photos on my computer that I haven't printed yet.

In a way, I like having them on the computer until I'm ready to use them, because I'm able to print them into collages or smaller sizes whenever I am ready for them. On the other hand, I like having everything printed out and in front of me so that I know what I have and can see it all. I feel like they are all hiding if I can't see them all....and then I forget what I have to scrap.

What's your preference?

I keep mine stored on my laptop until I am ready to use them. I also keep them stored on a flash drive. :)

Ugh - it varies - I usually wait till a great deal @ one of the photo processing sites and then mass print. If i get inspired about a collage I have no problem reprinting on my home printer.

I first tried to keep up with the printing when I switched to digital 5 or years ago. But let that slip too. I can see the advantage of being able to crop and size for a LO though.

I mass print too, Krissy. If I find a good deal online, I used to print about three months worth of photos at a time. Now, I'm so far behind that I don't even know where to start. :( I still don't have any Christmas pictures from LAST YEAR printed!!! Can you believe that?!

I print as I go. I am pretty well caught up with everyday stuff, so I usually print out 2-3 events at a time.

I do have a few other projects I need to catch up on thou.

I will do the mass print. I find I have so many photos now of Ariel that I'm actually putting the photos in old-fashioned photo albums!!!

I have ideas for ones I want to make into a page, but not all of them, for sure

i save mine under 'nathan's' folder. inside that folder are addt'l folders (holidays, outings, food, silly,e tc). i do not put my pix in the detailed folders until i have printed them off. i generally only print pix when i notice there's a lot or when i know i'm going to sit and scrap. usually an hour later, i have a ton of pix printed and am ready to scrap.

Mine are on my computer. I print my own for scrapping and have a place like snapfish print for keeping a hard copy of them.

Everythings is on the computer, I usually have printed the ones I know I'll want to scrap and use the sales to print everything.

I SO wish I could print at home the pic I want, when I want..

well, cause my printer sucks. I bought this one maybe 2 years ago, was supposed to solve this problem for me...nope. Just as with every other printer I've owned, it doesn't cut the mustard for printing pictures. They all work in the beginning...a few months in, the quality is not what I want to scrap with.

I've owned 2 HPs and now a Kodak.

gothcha!

i have an hp all-in-one printer. it's set up to prnt on 5x7 glossy/matte photo paper, but the queality on THAT really suxx. HOWEVER, when i buy the 100 pack of the kodak/hp everyday photo paper (for about $12), it's awesome! i use that every day!!!

i don't know why the difference, but the actual photo photo paper sux. the everyday paper works AWESOME! if you havne't tried it, you should. you may be pleasantly surprised.

I got a new Kodak for either Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, or my bday...can't remember which one...but it's the one where the commercial talks about wasting money with printing from a store. This is an all-in-one printer/copier/scanner and it ROCKS! I love it! It has been sooooo good on ink so far....I've only had to replace 1 cartridge since I've had it, and I printed a LOT during preschool and with printing photos and collages. I'll look up the exact name of it, but I love it. It's so easy too.

I used to not like printing at home because the quality just never looked as good as from a lab. I love this one though! ;)

maybe you need to clean the printer heads?
if you bring up your printer and go to properties, there should be an option for cleaning printer heads somewhere. i was told long ago that this is something you wanna do every now and then if you use your printer alot.

It's a Kodak ESP5250. The refill ink cartridges are super cheap!

The photo paper makes a HUGE difference, for sure. I like getting mat paper so that it doesn't show fingerprints so bad. When did you get your printer? Because the one I have was just recently developed....maybe it's a newer/improved model??

Hmmm....seems like mine is a tiny bit different: http://store.kodak.com/store/ekconsus/e ... e=ESP+5250

I love that mine is wireless too. I find that the more expensive photo paper really does make the difference, though.
