Alright, I have actually started to clean out the scrap room from the move boxes. There are still a ton in there, but I can at least walk through it. It's funny how I have had how many months to figure up the set up, but I haven't. Although I think it will be fun to have a crystal chandelier! lol! (No ceiling fixture in there right now anyway). So back to focusing...I am lost as to how to set it up. I have looked online and see a lot of fun ideas and I know it will be a process of getting it moved and then moving it again until I like it. In the meantime, I was hoping to illicit your help! I have attached some pictures to hopefully give you a sense of the room and you can see some of the furniture. Where do I start? What do you find most functional in what places? I feel like a newbie at this all over again.....

Looks like a good space!! Desk obviously at that window! Alot of possibilities with the wire shelf in the closet. ribbon from them maybe? or hang plastic bag/kits from them?

I was thinking the desk at the window as well. I have seen a lot of fun rooms that have the table in the middle of the room. Not sure I could pull that off though, especially without the overhead light. Love the ribbon from the wire shelving idea!

TOO funny! I was thinking desk in the middle would be great...especially if you could find an old small round kitchen table to re-purpose. Maybe put it up on those risers for beds, make it taller? Then all of your supplies would be around the room and you in the middle!

Ack! I used to have a small round table, but it was donated at the move. I'll be shopping in my basement for folding tables for the time being. I'd love a cool wooden one with neat spindle type legs... This has me excited to start scrapping/crafting again. I even have a little project in mind for when I get set up.

Desk in front of window too.. Unless it might fit inside the closet?

Plus if you have room a table for your friends to scrap at too...

I like the light idea too... you could always get one and hang it there till you get your electrical ran to it.

i think you should put most your supplies in the closet..

oh you need a table for your cricut, die cut machines and big cutter..

happy organizing!!

Oh man, I wish I was there with you so we could set it all up. I LOVE stuff like this! lol

I would definitely set up all the "big" functional furniture first and then fill in with the cute/decorative stuff. IKEA has an online room planner, I think, where you can put in the dimensions of your room and dimensions of your furniture and move it around online, then print it out as a guide. If not IKEA, then I know I've seen an online room planner somewhere. I think it would be pretty helpful because you can move stuff around and play with different placements of everything before actually committing to it. :)

As for the closet, you've got a clean slate there, and I would definitely put in some shelving and organizational things in there if you don't plan on getting doors for it and/or putting your desk inside of it. Also, look on Pinterest or scrapbook.com at scrap rooms...there are some awesome ideas there! ;)

I have some wire shelves like that (two stacked) and with open topped wash bins with baggies full of themed stuff in the bins. I use binder rings and large office clips to dangle cute packages of embellies along the edges of the wire shelf...mostly that cute stuff that is not so one themed, like packaged flowers, cute brads, swirls, cute words, etc.

WOW! So jealous- a whole room to scrap!

The desk by the window for sure, with the natural light.

I also like the peg boards with baskets and shelves hanging from them. I like all of my frequently used "stuff" within reach.

When we moved to our house 5 years ago, I used big butcher paper from school, cut it out in the rough dimensions, then laid it out in the room. Sure beats moving the real thing around!

Have fun-post pics when you are finished!

I have a great start to the room. Today I bought my big table. It isn't whet I set out for but I am sure I will love it. It's a high top dining room table with backed stools. Black. Can't wait to get it moved upstairs!

I think you could put a lot of your organizational things in the closet area.
Depending on how you scrapbook.
If you'd want it all in reach, then you'd have to think of something else.
HAVE FUN!

I've got a plan and my big bar height table to go in the room. I need another free day of time spent in there and I should be in good shape to maybe actually create something!

Been up in my room unpacking papers and kits and ribbons and buttons and embellies. So much fun. I can't wait to get it in working order! I'm want to make something....

Definitely need to figure out some lighting. I have the new "ott" light and another floor light with two lamps off of it, but I feel like it's still dark in here. Overhead lighting isn't a possibility in the near future so I will probably just have to bring in another floor lamp for now. Also thinking I will do some rearranging of furniture, but not sure exactly how just yet.

I put a long rectangular table in the closet. I have my cricut, cuttlebug and sticker/laminator on that table. Under the table, I have my carrying totes for crops, etc. From the wire rack, I have hung themed kits. I wasn't sure about it, but I think I feel like I will be able to see what I have easier this way. On top of the wire rack, I have my stamping stuff for now. It's not easy to access, but I'm not anticipating stamping right away so I have time come up with an alternate solution.

Ok, enough rambling....just wanted to share. :)

Rita and Lisa - ready to come to Bailey's B & B????? ;)

Ok! Let's have a retreat at my house!!!! How much fun would that be?!??!! :)
I LOVE entertaining and dreaming of ways to make things comfortable for guests. Although, there wouldn't be a ton of personal space here, but who needs that when we can scrap and chat and eat and scrap and chat?
